Green Grotto Caves
Green Grotto Caves is a network of limestone caverns west of the house, built around an underground lake roughly 1,525 metres long and 12 metres deep. A guide takes you through the chambers and covers both the geology — stalactites, stalagmites, crystal-clear water — and the history, which is the more interesting half.
Taino and Arawak settlers used the caves, then Spanish colonists, then people escaping enslavement, all as refuge. During the Second World War the caves reportedly served as a store for arms smuggled in from Cuba. They also turn up on screen in the James Bond film Live and Let Die.
The tour runs about an hour and works for most ages. It sits directly across the road from the Ultimate Jerk Center, so the two pair naturally into one trip.

- Open daily 9am-4pm. Admission has run about US$20 for adults and US$10 for children 4-12, with under-4s free — confirm current pricing before you go.
- Closed-toe shoes with grip: the cave floor is damp and slippery in places.
- It's noticeably cooler underground than outside, so a light layer helps.
- Bats roost in the cave ceiling and guides ask for quiet so as not to disturb them.
